Howdy Howdy Howdy

I plan on being pretty brief. There are only a few things I want to talk about

  1. Tour
  2. Life Finds a Way as a free download
  3. The Metro

I will start with tour. We are heading out on a quick jaunt out to the east coast and back at the end of the month. We have a new Van, we like it. I am just happy that the trailer is no longer needed. So yes, anyway, we will hit the road in our new van. Check out the dates.

So secondly we have decided to give our current EP Life Finds a Way away as a free download. Pretty neat huh? So if you don’t already have the record, or know someone who you think might enjoy it forward them to the download page on our website.

FREE ALBUM!!!!

It will only be available as a free download until July 1st so make sure you get it while you can. Sweet.

Annnnnnd, lastly when we return home from tour we will be playing at the Metro in Chicago. The date is June 19th. The show is free before 9 pm, is 18 plus and is our first time headlining the Metro stage. We are playing with our friends Ultra Sonic Edukators, The Laureates and the Gunshy. I am excited.

That is pretty much it, we have a few more Midwest shows in May before we head out for tour as well. All of these shows are with various friends that we have made of the years. The shows should all be pretty awesome if you can come. Yup.

May 9th – Peoria, IL – The Meeting House (with the Forecast)
May 15th – Madison, WI – The High Noon Saloon (Awesome Car Funmakers CD Release show)
May 23rd – Rockford, IL – The ELB (with Dr. Manhattan)
May 24th – Milwaukee, WI – Stonefly Brewery (with Sleeptight Co.)

On a lower note, after two years playing with us, Kara will no longer be with us in Inspector Owl. Since moving to Chicago last semester for school, she found it too difficult to continue as a full-time member of an out-of-town band. She will be missed, but we shall carry on. If you have a message for Kara, let us know, and we can make sure she gets it!

Thanks! See you all at shows, tell your friends about our free record.

Car crashes, squirels and shows.

A hoy hoy,

Winter is over. I am happy. The band is happy. In the last winter I detailed my issues with the winter, I put it all out in writing and thought to my self, "Self, you just showed winter who is boss. Winter has nothing on you." Unfortunately the gratification that came from slandering the winter was short lived. Winter took its revenge.

That is our car. It is in a ditch. We were on our way to play what promised to be an awesome show in De Pere, Wi. It was snowing rather heavily, something like eight inches in three hours and it just kept coming. About 25 miles north of Milwaukee, WI the car began to drift. This was not just a slight drift. We drifted at about forty miles an hour off of the freeway and in to a ditch, the car clipped a lightpole and went through a fence. Luckily everyone was safe and our vehicle only had some body damage. We were towed out of the ditch and the next day we made it to our show in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

While nobody was hurt in the accident there was one casualty on that dreadful trip. William, my plastic lawn squirrel fell and shattered. It was a sad sad day. May he rest in peace.

Anyway, we are still writing and working on new material. We are getting ready to try some more new songs out at shows, so we booked a bunch of shows, including an east coast tour. So for all of you out east who want to see us you may very well have your chance. The tour is going to run May 29th until June 7th. I am listing everything that is confirmed as of now, although I expect a couple more shows to come together. If any of you have the ability to help us out in Massachusetts, Philly or somewhere around New Jersey email me Booking@inspectorowl.com.

We also are proud to announce that we will be returning to the Metro in Chicago on May 21st. The show is part of the Metro’s Rock Against Recession series. It will start at 9 PM and is free for anyone who shows up before 9. The show is 18 and up so a lot of you younger folks can come out. More details will be coming soon. Keep an eye on our website and myspace page.

We also have a slew of April shows so take a look at those and come out and say howdy. Sweet. Thanks!

Waffles,

Corey and the rest of Inspector Owl

Winter sucks.*
Saturday, March 01, 2008

The roads around Chicago are in terrible condition. I don't know about other parts of the country, but the potholes here could swallow a bus; maybe not a full sized bus, but at least a short bus. Regardless, spring is here and with spring comes shows. When the weather gets warm it no longer hurts my face to load and unload the trailer so we hit the road again.

We did manage to stay productive this winter, writing and demoing for a full length record. We have been playing a lot of the new material at shows, so if you want a sneak peak at what is coming you should check out a show. We hope to be recording for real this spring or early summer.**

So, before I get to the shows I wanted to ask if any of you have any videos or photos of us playing and what not. Soo umm do you? (raises one eyebrow) If you do have anything of that sorts please fell free to send stuff to inspectorowl@inspectorowl.com I will get it and put it on the interwebs. Thanks!

So anyway, shows. We have a bunch this spring. We also soooooon will have some pretty cool news for May including a fun show in Chicago and our first tour out to the east coast. Are you excited? I am! Yup. Come out if you can, say hello, give high fives and hugs or whatever so long as it is not like a pig's heart in a brown paper bag. That is creepy.

In high school my friends and I thought it would be funny to scare one of our teachers by sending a 6 foot subway party sub to her house with a note that simply said "I Will Not Be Igonred." We never did send the sandwich… it was probably for the best. Thanks!
