IO = Not Dead. Sweet.
May 13 2009

Hey,

Yes it has been forever since we have sent one of these out. We have been fairly inactive the past 10 months. After our Metro show last June some folks left the band and some others have since joined. We have been spending most of our time regrouping, working on other projects, writing new songs and learning some old songs. We have a couple of shows coming up that I want to invite you out too if you are in the area.

First – Friday May 22nd we are playing our first show in almost a year. We are hitting up one of our favorite venues on earth, Schubas Tavern in Chicago, IL. Schubas not only has a sweet live room, but delicious mac and cheese. Honestly some of the best mac and cheese I have had. We are playing with other Chicago natives Big Science and Certain People I Know, which is Bob and Damon from Braid and Hey Mercedes new rock band. The show starts at 10 pm. We are playing first. It promises to be a great night. The show is only 5 dollars in honor of it being the 2 year anniversary of Betta Promotions. She is doing a series of shows around Chicago for 5 dollars each to prove that you can do a show in Chicago for cheap and still treat the bands well and have people come out. I am pretty excited.

Secondly – Friday May 29th we are playing at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI for LU-aroo Music Festival 2009. I do not know a ton of details, it will be a pretty sweet night. Every show we have ever played in Appleton has been a blast. Needless to say we are excited to return.

Thirdly – Friday June 26th we are playing Swedish Days in Geneva. We are playing on the main stage at about 7 pm. We are sharing the stage that night with Kid, You’ll Move Mountains and my friend Noah Gabriel. A bunch of us grew up in Geneva so this should be pretty fun. It is outdoors, and free, so if you live in the western suburbs or feel like making the trek to Geneva you should. The Corn on the Cob is always delicious.

We are writing some songs, maybe we will record them soon, maybe not. So hopefully this summer that recording thing will go down. To keep up to date with our instant thoughts check us out on twitter. www.twitter.com/inspector_owl. Word.

To everyone who downloaded the free record over the last year or so thanks! If you downloaded it and thought it sucked… well it was a free record. If you downloaded it and loved it awesome! Tell you friends, send them the mp3’s and drag them to a show.

Laters!
